Miss Fortune – “The Double Threat of Danger” (Feat. Tyler Carter) [Song Review]

Featuring members of Make Me Famous and Scarlett O’Hara, Miss Fortune is a brand new post-hardcore group. Fresh of the block, on May 21st the band released their first single “The Double Threat of Danger” featuring the vocal stylings of Tyler Carter (Woe, is me). For a song with as much hype as this one, especially being this band’s first, it completely lives up to expectations – the vocalists each bring their own unique sound and amplify the experience. At first glance, any die-hard post-hardcore fan will hear something more than a band bashing their scene and by using his lyrics and voice, Tyler Carter gets revenge on his old band members for their song “Vengeance”.

You really can’t lose with this song. Everything is put in place immaculately, with a strong focus on captivating lyrics – “I can feel it in my bones, there’s a part of me, tried to take and run, but I made a scene,” sings Tyler Carter, attacking his old band. “I’ll be in your background, I’ll be singing so loud with all the girls you ever wanted, trying to f*** my ego” he continues. As offensive as it may be, listening to Tyler Carter sing his part makes you keep this song on repeat. And after a 100 or so listens, there is no doubt that this track and band are here to stay.
