Witchtrap – “Vengeance is My Name”

Columbian thrashers Witchtrap have been plugging around the underground scene for a few years, but so far have not had much exposure outside of their home country. That should all change with Vengeance is My Name which will be released on May 22nd by Hell’s Headbangers. em>Vengeance is My Name is purely rooted in 80s thrash, primarily Slayer and Megadeth, but you can also hear plenty of Anthrax, Testament and Metallica in there too. A lot of people have been burnt out on the 80s metal revival, but I’m personally cool with it as I love that style.

The songs chug along with a “Peace Sells” and “Among the Living” vibe to them. If you grew up with any of the “Big 4” thrash bands, have a denim vest of just feel that metal lost most of it’s luster after 1988, give Vengeance is My Name a spin and relive the glory days of metal.
