The Skinny: We were the first website in North America to bring you the official music video for “Solaranus”, the opening track from Årabrot’s September 2011 Fysisk Format release and Norwegian Grammy-winning album Solar Anus. Now we’re the first site to bring you a free download of the band’s second song, “And The Ass Had Spoken”. No strangers to hard work, Haugesund, Norway’s unavoidable kings of noise rock are in stellar form on this, their fifth album to date.
Overflowing with grungy, grimy, sludgy rock, this Steve Albini (Pixies, Nirvana) recorded and mixed album boasts eight songs all of equal caliber (there is no filler!). The band would visit Chicago’s Electrical Audio Studio A in March/May of 2011 and then master the album with Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service in June.
