Album Review
Anoreski – “Rise Of Infinity”
Rise Of Infinity is the latest release from Anoreski, a melodic death metal band from Istanbul, Turkey. These guys are currently unsigned, but I can’t imagine they’ll be for long as this is one of the better albums I’ve heard in quite some time. Musically it’s a mid-tempo offering that is brash, guttural and extremely powerful with chugging heavy riffs, driving bass and pounding drums.

What to me stands out the most, and what I feel separates this group from others in this over-saturated genre, are the the lead breaks; not only are they super-melodic and tasteful, but they’re also abundant giving this record a much different vibe than most other death metal affairs. And while I realize they’re from Turkey, Anoreski play death metal that is akin to that of Swedish melodic metal masters Dark Tranquility and In Flames.
I found Anoreski to be a welcome breath of fresh air and if like me you’re a fan of melodic death, you owe it to yourself to give this record a shot. Keep your eyes on these guys, I don’t think Turkey can contain them for much longer.
