Album Review
Zombie Inc. – “A Dreadful Decease”
A Dreadful Decease is a full on fuzzy, filthy death metal assault. The very first song, “Chaosbreed” hit me like a battering ram to the head and I spent the better part of forty minutes trying to figure out what had just happened. This is death metal, but it sounds a bit different from the norm. Aside from the horror-inspired themes of zombies and blood these guys put a slight twist on the traditional sound; the overall production is sparse and the record just sounds intentionally dirty.

Musically speaking though the super groove-infused songs are quite captivating especially tunes such as, “Deadtribe Sinister” and “Horde Unleashed” both of which immediately got my head banging. Vocalist Martin Shirenc seems to have been successful at channeling a maniacal madman with vocals that run the gamut from traditional death metal growls to eerie high pitched screams that really made my skin crawl. A Dreadful Decease is a decent record. While the overall production is a bit too dirty for, as death metal albums go this is a pretty good one.
