Mace – “Haarp Strings” [Free Download]

Washington State thrash metal group Mace are not only legends, but also pioneers. While their music is rooted in classic thrash, Mace was also one of the early adopters of punk and hardcore crossover elements. Though their career was somewhat short lived, in their time they shared the stage with renowned acts like Testament, Slayer, Anthrax, Metal Church, The Circle Jerks and The Accused. Mace would release two albums (1985’s Process of Elimination via Coma Records and 1987’s The Evil in Good via Black Dragon Records), both of which contained their signature brand of gutter thrash punk.

The Skinny: Washington State thrash metal group Mace are not only legends, but also pioneers.

Enter present day and it’s with pleasure we reiterate the fact that Mace have reunited. And what better way to celebrate this wondrous reunion then by giving away a free download of their song “Haarp Strings”!? Boasting their signature sound this song has the flair and fervor of 80s metal mixed with modernity and the maturity/wisdom gained over the past 30 or so years. Says the band of the free song “Haarp Strings”: “We got all our shows on tour and fanzine reviews and interviews that way [tape trading], giving it away on the internet today is just an extension of that”.
