The World Snowboarding Championship (WSC), in association with Andrew W.K.’s very own Santos Party House nightclub and concert venue, has confirmed that Andrew W.K., Kvelertak, Turbonegro and the Dropkick Murphys will be among the headlining musical acts to perform during the WSC 2012. This first ever World Snowboarding Championship will take place February 10th – 19th in Oslo, Norway and features the top athletes from around the world competing and attending, including Ty Walker (U.S.A.), Mark McMorris (Canada), Tyler Flanagan (U.S.A.) and Peetu Piiroinen (Finland). “Party Hard” super-star, Andrew W.K., is also the championship’s official rock & roll ambassador, and recorded the official theme song to WSC 2012, “Go Go Go Go”.

New York City’s Santos Party House kicked off the excitement back in November at the international launch party for WSC, which featured live performances by Andrew W.K and The WSC Band, as well as the legendary rock group, Turbonegro. The infamous Norwegian death-punk band performed for a sold-out crowd – their first concert on U.S. soil since they reformed.

At that show, Andrew W.K. and the WSC band also premiered a second original track entitled, “My Time”. The good folks at Transworld Snowboarding filmed a live video of Andrew W.K. and the WSC band ripping through the song at the International WSC kick-off party at Santos Party House. Henning Andersen, the CEO of WSC, commented on the song, “All world championships usually have just one theme song, but WSC 2012 has two!” This additional theme song will be released next week.

Andrew W.K. commented on the international kickoff party: “It was a privilege to host the legendary Turbonegro concert at Santos Party House, and also to play my own songs with the fabulous WSC Band. But one Turbonegro party is not enough. So, we’re going to export the spirit of Santos Party House to Oslo during the championship, and have parties every night! I’m extremely excited that Turbonegro is opening a week filled with high class entertainment and world-class athleticism.”

Following the Turbonegro kick off, the Dropkick Murphys will take the Santos Oslo stage on February 13th, Tommy Tee on Feb 15th and Kvelertak on Feb 17th.
