Alt Press has premiered the official video for the song, “Day One”, by Chicago space rock/math rock trio, The Life And Times. Directed by Clayton Brown, the music video tackles a complex and intense narrative between a guy and girl through highlighting relationship themes of obsession, desperation, co-dependence and abuse.
Guitarist and vocalist Allen Epley says of the video, “At the end of the whole thing, we’re left wondering whether it was a playfully consensual tussle between lovers or if there was something darker happening there.” Strengthening the dramatic nature of the video, Brown used a slow-motion camera, which captured images that positively contrasted with the driving beat of the song. “A fixed bass groove leads into “Day One,” one of the most lyrically chilling songs on the album. The infatuation with whomever this release is directed at is sick, but in a sweet way”, says The Aquarian of the track’s meaning.
