Charred Walls of the Damned – “Cold Winds on Timeless Days”
Tim “Ripper” Owens is at the helm once again for Charred Walls of the Damned’s sophomore release, Cold Winds on Timeless Days. This is a ‘super-group’ of sorts that took the metal world by storm a few years ago with their unbelievable talent and skills; Owens, in my opinion has one of the best voices in metal and drummer Richard Christy is just insane.

With all of this being said though I have never been able to fully jump on the Charred Walls of the Damned bandwagon and this release is no exception. It’s a good metal record for sure, but with the exception of a few tunes none of it makes me want to jump out of my seat and bang my head. I really liked “Ashes Falling Upon Us” and “On Unclean Ground,” but other than these two standouts I think the disc is fairly unremarkable. At the end of the day fans of the band will probably dig this because it’s fairly consistent with their previous release. As for me, I found it listenable, but not memorable.
