WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM Premiere New Track “Woodland Cathedral” Online; Announce Updated Tour Dates

Today, NPR is hosting the public’s first listen to “Woodland Cathedral,” the fifth track off of Cascadian black metal act Wolves In The Throne Room’s upcoming LP, ‘Celestial Lineage’. The majestic “Woodland Cathedral” is surely one of the most melodic and serene arrangements within WITTR’s latest triad of albums.

A trio that began with 2007’s incredibly organic opus ‘Two Hunters’, segued by 2009’s more aggressive ‘Black Cascade’ album, and now climaxing with ‘Celestial Lineage’ – and is a primal example of what the newest LP from one America’s paramount black metal acts is capable of delivering. ‘Celestial Lineage’ is set for release in North America via Southern Lord Recordings on September 13th, 2011, and is unarguably one of the most anticipated black metal releases of the entire year.

In related news, Wolves In The Throne Room have expanded and adjusted their previously announced first tour in support of ‘Celestial Lineage’, which embarks at the end of August, and will now run into early October. WITTR will be joined by Louisiana sludge-crushers Thou for a solid chunk of the Canadian and Midwest/Northeast U.S. dates, while their brethren in Portland-based Megaton Leviathan will join much of the second segment of the tour. Due to the underground nature of this tour, the details for some engagements will be announced at a later date.
