Seether – “Country Song” [Song Review]
Oh Shaun Morgan, what have we done without your fury and resentment the last year and a half? The first single from the record is appropriately titled “Country Song.” The first time I heard the song I immediately thought “what the fuck is this?” It sounds like what you’d expect from a song called “Country Song,” with a twangy sounding guitar riff and a very southern sound to it. I’m not sure the average Seether fan would immediately love the song since it is a bit of a departure for the band. However, I must say, “Country Song” is a bit of a “grower.” It’s taken several listens but the song isn’t half bad and it’s saved by a strong chorus. Definitely not Seether’s best work but an interesting departure to say the least.
