Snatch Magnet – “Screw, Nut & Bolt”

You know when you listen to an album and every song literally blends into the other making all the songs sound the same? How much does that suck? Thankfully, for me (and you), Snatch Magnet’s 2010 release Screw, Nut & Bolt accomplishes the complete opposite.

You know when you listen to an album and every song literally blends into the other making all the songs sound the same? How much does that suck? Thankfully, for me (and you), Snatch Magnet’s 2010 release Screw, Nut & Bolt accomplishes the complete opposite.

Through their wide-ranging influences (everything from Duran Duran to Iron Maiden to Queen) Snatch Magnet has created an album of wholly unique songs. But this isn’t a bad thing. Quite the opposite, in fact, as they have managed to harness an array of influences that make the album sound like their very own pop/metal fusion. Screw, Nut & Bolt is fun sounding record that’s chalk full of balls and catchy hooks, it’s hard not to like these guys.

Catchiest song: “Multi-Girl”
Best Iron Maiden impression: “Call of the Maiden”
Most interesting song: It’s a toss-up between “The Widow” and “Hybrid”

01. The Widow
