OK Go will premiere their brand new single, “The Greatest Song I Ever Heard,” today RIGHT HERE. The Grammy®-winning band will perform the track on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday, April 28th. OK Go wrote “The Greatest Song I Ever Heard” at the behest of Oscar-nominated director Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me).

It serves as the theme song for Spurlock’s latest film, POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, a documentary that explores the world of product placement, marketing and advertising. Hailed as “ingenious and devilishly clever” by Entertainment Weekly, the Sony Pictures Classic release had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and opens in select cities on April 22nd. The paradoxical hook of the film is that it was fully financed through awkward product placements in the film itself, a process that the viewer watches from Spulock’s first pitch meetings all the way to the ads sardonically inserted into the narrative. OK Go appears in the movie, discussing the success they’ve had in funding corporate sponsors for their music videos as a means of financing their work in a post-major label world.

“It was such an incredible coup to get OK Go to create the theme song for the movie. They are the most innovative and original band working today and I was so lucky that they were on board from the very first preview cut I showed them,” says Morgan Spurlock. “I couldn’t have imagined a more poignant track in the film. It’s perfect. It really is The Greatest Song I Ever Heard.”
