What one piece of equipment do you use to obtain your signature sound?
Nixon: I would have to say my guitar… my baby… my Epiphone.

What about it makes it so important to you?
Nixon: It may not be a real Gibson, but it sure feels like one when I’m holding it. The Humbucking pick-ups are killer and I love the tone from it. No matter what amp I play out of, and no matter the pedal I’m stomping… it wouldn’t be the same if I wasn’t holding this guitar. I picked it up at a pawn shop on look alone, I held it and just had to have it!

What are the major pros and cons?
Nixon: The good stuff; great pick ups that allow easy tone changes during a tune. I love the feedback and sustain from it (when my noise compressor is of course). The bad stuff; there is only one… I wish it had a whammy bar. This particular model doesn’t support one or I’d have it.

How long have you used this piece of equipment and would you ever change it?
Nixon: I’ve had this beautiful six string since 2001/2002 and would i ever change it?… well, let’s just say I’ve played others and really this one just feels like home.

Any final thoughts or comments on the gear?
Nixon: Sure, how do I get an endorsement?! [laughs] Do I have to totally rock or just enjoy what I do?!
