Gear Review: Dancing With Paris guitarist Andrew Wilson on his Ibanez RG2228 Prestige 8-String
If you’re looking for a hardcore band with poppy choruses and super-heavy riffs, look no further than Dancing With Paris. The band achieves their heavy tones with the help of some 8-string guitars; check out what guitarist Andrew Wilson had to say about his Ibanez RG2228 Prestige 8-String axe.

What one piece of gear do you use to obtain your signature sound?
Andrew: I would have to say it’s my Ibanez RG2228 Prestige 8- String.
What about it makes it so important to you?
Andrew: Well, it’s an 8-string and I think the tone and the tuning that I can get out of it really sets us apart from other bands in the scene right now.
What are the major pros and cons?
Andrew: Pros: awesome tones, awesome to play, no one else really has one. Cons: it’s a bitch to string and tune.

How long have you had it, how do you use it, would you ever change it?
Andrew: I have had my guitar for almost 3 years now. I don’t play it like an 8-string. I’m not the one to noodle around and shred ’til my fingers bleed. I play it like its a 6-string so I try and find the coolest sounding chords that I can. I would never change anything about it.
Any final thoughts or comments on the gear.
Andrew: I love Ibanez because I think it’s the most comfortable guitar in the world to play.
