Antillectual – “Buyer’s Remorse” [Song Review]

Despite the dubious name choice, Antillectual deserve credit for being one of those European bands who manage to play American punk rock better than most American punk rockers (Millencollin reign as the undisputed kings). And despite the cookie-cutter political stances being thrown at you like bricks, Antillectual manages to bring a decent musical backdrop for their outspoken politics.

“Buyer’s Remorse” is one of the better tracks from the recent full length Start From Scratch!, and although lyrics like “I hope our backs didn’t hurt your knives” might not garner any poetic distinction, the overall effort is impressive. The upbeat rhythm combines with the surprisingly successful male-female call and response lyrics, and Antillectual’s Bad Religion-esque stylings fortify the solid song.  [ END ]
