Last Call Chernobyl – “Drowning Beneath The Sound of Change” [Album Review]

As of late I’ve been rocking out to some awesome bands from Diminished Fifth Records. Artists that I enjoy include: Orchids Curse, The.Daisy.Anthesis and UIGG. Last Call Chernobyl recently inked a deal with D5R and now have released their first record Drowning Beneath The Sound Of Change. Aware of D5R’s eye for talent, I made a point of checking out this group’s MySpace and found that D5R had had done it again; signed another great band. I was ecstatic.

After having shared the stage with established acts such as Means, Orchid’s Curse, Shortline Hero and more, Last Call Chernobyl were ready to release their debut disc Drowning Beneath The Sound Of Change. To begin the support for their new release the band will be performing on this years Vans Warped Tour, a good move to grow that fan base.

Drowning Beneath The Sound Of Change is seven tracks of technical metal. Last Call Chernobyl has created a great blend of breakdowns with complex/melodic guitar overlays. Also overlaying throughout the album is growling which helps to harshen the music’s overall sound and feel. A quality I like about the band is that they show influences from older melodic hardcore bands.

Last Call Chernobyl’s first album Drowning Beneath The Sound Of Change is an astounding album that will enable the group to establish itself in the music industry. Everyone should go pick up a copy and if you want to witness greatness first hand, don’t miss the opportunity to see them live when they come to your home town. Fans of Kingdoms, Orchids Curse, The Daisy Anthesis and UIGG should definitely look into LCC.
