Nevermore – “The Obsidian Conspiracy”

Beginning in 2006 Nevermore experienced a streak of bad luck involving their members’ health. This caused many of their fans to be nervous about the band’s future. A few years later the group calmed our collective nerves by releasing their long overdue record The Obsidian Conspiracy. With this release it was time once again for the guys to take the stage and show fans what real music is.

Having played some of the big festivals such as Rock Hard, Gigantour, Wacken, Metalmania and more, Nevermore have been able to draw in a behemoth size fan base. They have also toured across this world with other massive acts and are definitely one of the bigger bands within the metal scene that fans worldwide have come to love.

Their newest album, The Obsidian Conspiracy begins with “The Termination Proclamation”, a tract full of thrashing guitars and heavy groove parts. There is a nice transition into the second track “Your Poison Throne” which is a much mellower song but still kicks you hard in the face. The majority of this album has crazy instrumentals and exceptional guitar work. Also, Warrel Dane’s voice is as powerful as ever. Even with a long hiatus Nevermore can still write face-melting songs.

Again, Nevermore have finally released their 7th full length album and The Obsidian Conspiracy is their heaviest to date. Fans of Warrel Dane, Jeff Loomis, Sactuary and Iced Earth will really enjoy Nevermore.  [ END ]
