A three piece that fancies guttural Brit-infused garage rock and roll and writes raging anthems to dance to. The band just released their new single “Rock n’ Roll Prostitute” for free download and they will continue putting up free downloads via their website and gigging in and around Toronto. This Canadian trio is just getting started.
Born and raised in Toronto, vocalist and guitarist Shawn Leger met bassist Scott Thompson in high school. After playing in different bands together and apart for 15 years, you grow a certain type of intrinsic trust and comfort ability in your songwriting. It’s this untouched gritty honesty you can hear pouring out of each of People In Grey’s tracks. Visually they hint at the rebellious charm of the Voidoids, sonically you can hear early Springsteen or the dirty-prettiness of Psychedelic Furs, all mixed with their own twist brewed from years of playing together. It’s vintage punk, perfect pop and steel rock all at once. [ END ]
