Over the years, Helloween have consistently released solid metal records. The bands 2007 release is no exception. Helloween’s eagerly awaited full-length studio album opens with a brief spoken word intro then things quickly get set in motion as the band launches into their classic trashy/melodic metal sound that they have become known for. Vocalist, Andi Deris has an intense, powerful, emotion filled voice that drives each tune with tons of melody. The speedy complex arrangements of killer guitars and thundering drums will hook the listener right away and result is what I would call a must-have metal record.
While I really enjoyed the whole disc there were a few tracks that stuck out as exceptional to me. “I.M.E.,” and “Final Fortune” are the best tunes on this disc as far as I am concerned, they are undoubtedly two of the heaviest tracks that just grab you by the balls and do not let go.
The second disc in this package contains two videos, one for the first single, “As Long As I Fall” and the second, a behind the scenes look into the making of the video.
Helloween is a band that has been around for a while now and with the release of Gambling With The Devil, they have once again proven why, in a business that chews bands up on a regular basis, they have had such staying power. They are truly one of the great bands of the metal scene. Fans of Helloween or those who just like great heavy metal will absolutely dig this disc, It is good… very good. [ END ]
