The Skinny: Originally from the Durham Region, Ontario, the fivesome known as The Bootleg Glory, has recently moved to Toronto to further their careers as musicians. They’ve found much success in this move seeing as various labels have been trying to pick them up and deter them from their current label, Verve Music Group. These guys have the drive and determination to take their band to the next level and rock out on the world stage. The Bootleg Glory toss a handful of blues and a dash of punk and mix it into their own brand of indie rock.

The Durham area has thriving metal and hardcore scenes, with great bands such as On Burning Shores, Cedardale, In The Act Of Violence and many more. With this being the genre of choice for the people of towns such as Newcastle and Oshawa, The Bootleg Glory found it hard to get on local shows. So to get their name out there and let the local music fans hear their sound, they began playing with metal and hardcore bands. It seems they haven’t lost the ability to slide onto a metal roster at all as they are opening for Mutiny Within at the Roadrunner Records showcase during the 2010 edition of Canadian Music Week.

The Bootleg Glory have been compared to bands like Jet and The Trews, which seem to be well fitting comparisons. Over the past few years Bootleg has worked hard at perfecting their sound and have been writing a lot of new material and scrapping songs that have little to no potential. Keep an eye out for this band, they may be coming to a city near you soon!  [ END ]
