DD/MM/YYYY: “This Band is a Great, Bad Acid Trip”
With their experimental, post-hardcore-esque sound, DD/MM/YYYY (read: Day Month Year) is one of only two Toronto-area bands acknowledged by Alternative Press magazine as one of the “100 Bands You Need To Know in 2010”.

The Skinny: With their experimental, post-hardcore-esque sound, DD/MM/YYYY (read: Day Month Year) is one of only two Toronto-area bands acknowledged by Alternative Press magazine as one of the “100 Bands You Need To Know in 2010”.
The band formed in 2003 after a rumoured fist-fight between two local bands over an undisclosed issue. Once the broken noses healed, however, Mike Claxton, Tomas Del Balso, Jordan Holmes, Matt King, and Moshe Rozenberg became the best of friends. What began as a quest to expand their musical horizons soon morphed into song-writing sessions and, eventually, the release of their first full-length album, Blue Screen of Death, in August of 2005. The band chose their name because they wanted something as ever-changing as their music, which is loud and chaotic while still managing to maintain a high degree of musicality.
Five years, five releases, and countless live performances later, DD/MM/YYYY are currently touring to promote their Black Square LP, including dates in Austin, Texas for SXSW and their hometown of Toronto for NXNE. [ END ]
