You Me At Six – “The Consequence” [Song Review]
You Me At Six (YM@6) have recently released “The Consequence”, the first single from their rapidly selling sophomore album, Hold Me Down, and they really couldn’t have picked a better song to reignite their embers with.
You Me At Six (YM@6) have recently released “The Consequence”, the first single from their rapidly selling sophomore album, Hold Me Down, and they really couldn’t have picked a better song to reignite their embers with.
As the sirens fade in and riffs begin, the five-piece Brit band fire off a real sense of urgency from the very start. John Franceschi takes over with his distinctive voice and leads his fellow mates into an absolutely huge chorus, filled with pace, melody and real rock prowess. The band take a break with a neat bridge and build the noise up for the final few seconds, which seem to fly by too quickly and you’ll find yourself fumbling about to get the song back on again.
YM@6 are back and better than before, firmly deserving their seat next to pop punk masters, Paramore. The Surrey band have made another album which proves that the combination of cute melody and punk is still a winner in this bleary-eyed decade. [ END ]
