A STORM OF LIGHT Video Premiere For “Tempest”

Brooklyn, NY’s doom/post rock experimentalists A Storm Of Light recently shot a startling new video for the song “Tempest,” the third track off their upcoming new full-length, ‘Forgive Us Our Trespasses’.
The video was shot in HD at an undisclosed location in Brooklyn and directed by ASOL guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Josh Graham (Neurosis visuals, Blood And Time, Battle Of Mice). The hauntingly textured, black and white performance video reflects the lyrics of the song, which essentially revolve around the inevitable contamination of the air, sea and earth. Said Graham of “Tempest,” “This is one of the heavier songs on the new record, and we really thought this would make a good video. It’s a performance video with a twist. Over the course of the song we basically deteriorate into the chaotic footage of a dying planet.”

‘Forgive Us Our Trespasses’ is scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 22nd in the US via Neurot Recordings. The follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed debut, ‘And We Wept The Black Ocean Within’, finds its power through a dense bringing together of melodies, moods and textures, ensuring that while things are as heavy and cataclysmic as fans would expect, the devastating effects rely on interwoven melodies and graceful shifts in timbre, instead of a stream of identikit riffs. “I’m really happy with the progression the band has made on this record,” said Graham. I think we moved into more dynamic and orchestrated territory while still keeping the bulldozer heaviness intact. I can’t wait to play this stuff live.”
A Storm Of Light features Graham, bassist/vocalist Domenic Seita (formerly of Tombs and Asea), drummer/percussionist Andy Rice (formerly of Sinking Ships) and guitarist/keyboardist Joel Hamilton (Book Of Knots, Battle Of Mice), who also recorded the album. The band will perform live at a very special record release show in New York City this October with Biclops and Naked Heroes at Ace Of Clubs. All are encouraged to attend (admission is free).
