After Midnight Project: “Take This Band Home With You Tonight”

“The smooth, edgy voice of the lead singer sends chills through the stands as he stretches out the title note of “Take Me Home,” and the crowd appropriately screams with all their might to the chorus of ‘I Scream for You.'” – Shelly Fox, The Fox Den

This is a quote typical of concert reviews of After Midnight Project. The band is known for their relentless touring, dynamic and flawless live performances, and, subsequently, their dedicated fan base. Obviously though, the guys of After Midnight Project hope that they will soon be known for their stellar debut LP, Let’s Build Something to Break. Their first single off the album, “Take Me Home,” features fierce guitars, a pulsing drum beat, and a pretty damn catchy hook. The song is a fan-favorite from their first, self-titled EP released in 2006 and was also featured in the Xbox video game “Prey”.

But just who are these up-and-coming rockers? After Midnight Project was formed in Hollywood in early 2004 by members Jason (vocals), TJ (bass), Dan (drums), Spencer (lead guitar), and Christian (rhythm guitar). Since their formation they have been named as one of the “Top Four Unsigned Bands in the Nation” by Alternative Press, and have been showcased multiple times by the Los Angeles Times as a “buzz-worthy” band. AMP even played not one, but TWO separate concerts on New Year’s Eve 2007! Universal/Motown took note and signed After Midnight Project in Spring 2008.

Citing relationships, growing up on the gritty streets of Los Angeles, and the general confusion of being in your 20s as inspiration for most of their songs, After Midnight Project are poised to win over even more fans with Let’s Build Something to Break, available August 11th, 2009. Until then, check out their MySpace for upcoming tour dates and a few new tracks, and to see for yourself what all the hype is about.  [ END ]
