Album Review
Kill The Alarm
Fire Away (2007)
Utterly amazing! Kill The Alarm bring to the table a sound that teases my ears almost to the point of a musical orgasm. I could feel my feet lift off the ground from unbelievable pleasure with each and every track. Fire Away is a debut album that deserves major kudos.
Lead vocalist Garen Gueyikian has a voice like an angel. Imagine soaking in a hot tub, smoking a cigar with countless gorgeous members of the opposite sex dancing around you in glorious nudity. This crazy thought offers you a small glimpse of the relaxation which I feel when listening to this PERFECT vocalist.
Once you get past the relaxing vocals you can begin to focus on the instrumentation; which does not noticeably stand out from any other band of this time period. Despite being the same as many others, the most noticeable feature of the band itself is bassist Justin Wallace. He brings a grooving bass riff to each and every track which is truly different. The guitar riffs are all high and whiny which is what I have come to expect from today’s rock music.
“Shout It Out Loud” is a soothing song that drifts me away to my happy place. One where I am surrounded by an ocean on a tropical island with my trusted bottle of rum. It’s truly a heavenly song. Once again, Garen Gueyikian seems to be the perfect vocalist that everyone has been searching the seven seas for.
I loved this album. The one downfall is that it made me yearn for the days of wasting my life away in a hot tub with a cigar surrounded by lovely ladies. I can however, forgive the band of this as the music is still totally amazing! [ END ]
