Chrome Division – “Doomsday Rock ‘N’ Roll”
Chrome Division is a Rock and Roll band formed from some of the most elite rockers in the music industry today. Most of you probably alright know of Shagrath, right? Well if you don’t already of him you should; he is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He is from the legendary band Dimmu Borgir!

Of course he’s still playing guitar in Chrome Division, wouldn’t that make sense? The rest of the band just so happens to be Luna of Ashes to Ashes, of course playing bass, Tony White of The Kovenant, still beating on his skins, Eddie Guz on vocals, from the band The Carburetors, and Ricky Black playing lead.
The album opens up with “Doomsday Overture” which is only an introduction to the album. “Doomsday Overture” eventually leads into “Serial Killer.” The guitar riff is pretty sweet in this track and it definitely is a bit of change for Shagrath, considering he plays for one of the heaviest Black Metal bands of all time. But he rocks the shit in this song nonetheless. Eddie’s vocals fit the profile of the music perfectly and he gives off an amazing amount of attitude with his grungy voice.
Next up is the killer track, “The Angel Falls.” The introduction starts off pretty slow and soothing… until the drums kick in! Once the drums begin the pace is turned up a notch. Now I’ve realized something by now, this band is truly a rock ‘n’ roll band, so if any of you reading this are into Dimmu Borgir or Slipknot and can’t stand rock ‘n’ roll then you might want to click back. This isn’t the band for you. But this track is perfect for the highway… Torontonians… drive down the 401, going 120, with the stereo CRANKED!
Overall, the album was pretty good. It showed a completely different side of Shagrath, one which we can all admire. Although his name might have been previously synonymous with Metal to the max, it can also be associated with some ass-kicking rock. I am most definitely into this wicked style of beats and give this album a 7.6/10. [ END ]
