Feel Like Hell (2005)

The Classic Struggle… You mean good and evil right? That which must be continually fought for against all that will damn the race of men to be without the dragon of fury born of the star of happiness.

The battle waits for no man. We don’t choose our time. When it is upon us, we fight, we struggle… and I’ll be damned if I ever go down with out a fight. Enter Track 1 “Death March.” It’s gotta nice warm up. You can see your hero getting prepared. This is your opening montage. The rock battle is about to begin…..enter the hero!

At 1:58 of the first song it’s time for Chuck Norris to go into rapid fire mode and start purifying the holy land of those that aren’t prepared to be completely core about metal. And once he calls down the thunderous artillery from above… if you want to be lame you could call it “drums” but it’s more appropriate to call it “the beat of the thousands as they are damned by all that is good and metal.” Indeed the Classic Struggle. Rapid fire drums, screaming, and a guitar pace that makes you run until your nose bleeds, and you’re happy about it. It’s the first song and I can already declare, “I heart Metal!” I seem to have ended up in Track 2 “Feel Like Hell;” seamless my rock warriors, absolutely seamless! This song ignites your sword of power and lets it burn with the pure flames of determination. Go forth and deal your blow to evil and deliverance shall be thy name. Seriously getting pumped up now….

WHHHAAAAAAAA RATTAA TA TA TA TA… WWAAHHH!!!! For those who aren’t listening, I just hit Track 3 “From These Eyes.” Someone just hit the release on my adrenaline and I’m ready to drop kick my mom, the lives of several high profile politicians, and the emotion “regret.” This song has some serious power ups. I think Chuck Norris’s beard just entered the atmosphere because the pure metal power is at an exponential growth rate. Break down, soft slow, melodic… how did they fit this into a ripping metal song? Quality!

Continue the battle! And among the good and evil we will cry “Amen to Artillery”… unspeakable, something for every metal fan in this song. Melody for those who hail from the outer systems of metal love, to fast paced drums and breakdown death screams for those of us born in the star of excellence. It’s time to start delivering the round house kicks of destiny. Do you think you can take one of those when I’m listening to this bad boy!? Forget about it!

At this point I have entered full battle mode. Due to the fury of the first four songs I have been able to meld with surrounding ambient metal in the environment and channel my spirit to the eternal source of metal that exists at the center of the universe. As the tracks echo through the room (“The forgotten end”, “Unscarred”, “Burn the Fallen”, “Storm of Swords”…) I know I’ve come to a place of happiness and real ultimate power. The form of the ninja is present, the dragon soars, Chuck Norris is happy. All is well! The Classic Struggle have what it takes for pure metal happiness. They will spur the army’s unto righteous glory. Doubt has been defeated. Every track, repeat EVERY TRACK has something to offer. They have the talent, they have the label, hopefully they will land a crushing blow unto the metal world and we will hear from them big time soon!

If you don’t own it, your metal dragon is incomplete. Especially when a song is called “It’s not about breaking hearts, its about breaking faces” haha… not sure if I agree in principle, but the song destroys doubt, so how can you argue? It’s metal! Love it, or fuck off! This album just doesn’t quit. The last two songs “Claim Your Own” and “Take Aim” are immense. This album is immense. I’ve never heard of these guys before, never listened before, but every song is pure poundage. Basically it makes Chuck Norris’s beard grow, and when it shows up it stops bullets.  [ END ]
